Fated Circle feat Romano Ceres

An experimental piece I started working on last night in a moment of procrastination. Rather, I did it (and another I still have to shade) because I had no motivation to do anything else. At the least, I got some light shading practice in. x3
Before anyone asks, I have 2 more things I'm planning on finishing this weekend, one of which is an AT piece. Just have to finish shading all of them. :3

So, y'all remember Romano, right? If not, he's the personification of the planet Ceres, in the sense that he (who, btw, has no set gender, due to being a planet personification, and can freely jump the gender barrier with some time limits on how many times he can do so in a day) represents the spirit of the planet. As a child from the group of planet representatives, he's actually very powerful, magic-wise. However, he was somewhat frail, as his small limbs belied. The first time I drew him, he was about 14 (the same age Shuyri was when he started adventuring too~).
Here, I drew him as an older teen (about 17?). Though he got physically stronger, it's his magic that really improved.

A plot point the Torero storyline will have might deal on the fact that Roma has to work hard to keep his physical true body (aka, the planet itself) balanced. There's a few different ways he can accomplish this. One of the ways is to pretty much spiritually access a special zone the Creator created that will help Roma balance the elements (though, Roma also has to move these energies on his own; this zone is called the Fated Circle, as only one kin of the Ceres family line can access it at at a time. This means that if there were two Ceres siblings, the first sibling who accessed the zone would be the one to continue accessing it until they either died or were absorbed by the planet or the other sibling).
Now, if you guys recall my statement on how demons die once they can't manifest a physical body, this has a similar effect on Roma. Once his spirit goes to fix any calamities, his body fades away...unless something that isn't an energy being holds it to the physical realm.
Thusly, Aurelio, the torero the storyline would focus on, plays a big role later on in Roma's life. As a human, his anima acts differently than a demon's magic. Since his body is 'chained' to the physical world, by maintaining some kind of contact with Roma during such a time, even if Aurelio's soul is manipulated somehow into leaving his body, since humans leave behind corpses, Roma would still be able to return.

I did actually write the first chapter for Torero a longass time ago. I will note, Roma, as the planet's representative, has the ability to manipulate any body's soul on the planet. That is to say, he can 'understand' the magic of a human or a mystic and go away unaffected (so, he's resistant to things a regular demon wouldn't be able to handle). On the other hand, he can also manipulate their magic, against their wills or not (meaning that he can and probably does have the power to cause someone's power to commit mutiny and kill them). So, in the first chapter, he uses this power to demonstrate to Aurelio (who he refers to as a monkey quite a few times) why he calls him that. Using his own magic to manipulate Aurelio's, a tiny apparition of a monkey appears for a moment when Aurelio's true nature is shown. If Rio were a demon, his spirit would be that of a golden chimp (the golden part deals more with Aurelio's aura colour more than anything else, though; Roma has a cyan aura here)! xP

They're a cute pair, in all honesty, but of course, Roma will eventually set out on his own and leave Aurelio and co. behind. As he lives until he has a progeny/next of kin or until the aforementioned Fated Circle gig, this could mean Roma would outlive Aurelio very easily, or not even close to at all. :/

Ah yea, and if you can guess which pair Romano shares a colour palette/design aspects from, you win cookies. Internet cookies, but cookies nonetheless. xD
