Blazing Regret - Lyora/Laura

Description

This took a bit too long for me to get back to.
The good news is, the last 2 bits of the "2nd Gen Rivals and Enemies" thing has been grabbed.
Bad bit is, they have yet to be shaded.
But hey, easier to do now that I don't have to worry about SAI crashing everytime I try opening the damn base file. xD

Anyways, here's Lyora/Laura (the name she's called depends on the species of the character addressing her), the main enemy of Snow.

As the base pic said, Lyora's main reason for being a "villain" is her abusive relationship. Since she was humiliated by her SO constantly in front of his pals, she eventually ended up snapping and actually murdering her SO, to her later dismay.

Upon realizing what she did later, she tried to redeem herself by finding a way to revive the dead bastard, to Reishiki's amusement. Deciding to screw with her AND to "punish" Kage for fleeing from him (that's a backstory I'll save for Reishiki's bio), he tells her that he knows of someone (aka Kage) who has the power to revive the dead.

While this holds true, Kage "revives" someone via reincarnation. And it only works if he kills the person with one of his katana's (either the one he normally uses, the Galactic Fragment (which would be partial), or the Phoenix Paradigm, which he only gets right before his battle with Lyora), otherwise they're obviously deader than dead. xD

So, Reishiki tells her that the only way to gain this power for herself is to kill the bearer. And seeing as humans can't use Demonic Magic, you can see how utterly useless this knowledge is...for someone who would know, anyways.
Unlike later Sorceresses, Lyora knows little to nothing about her own powers and potentials. She knows she can summon giant-ass icicles and such. But she doesn't know why.
Of course, it's Emotion/Human magic at work there. But hey, whatever works for her, I suppose. xD

After she manages to find a way to lure the Guardian (and Co) to her (via 'possessing' three of the four Core Guards), she goes insane with the power she has. So, Lyora herself isn't the Final boss of Snow due to this factor, as she's killed by the ones she controls right after she gets weakened by an attack.
She's the Penultimate Boss, I guess I could say. x3

Her magic of choice is Fire and Ice, much like Zero's unusual typing in Gen 2.
There's also 2 versions of this pic. I just chose the fiery-looking one cus it contrasted nicely with her clothes~.
But otherwise, her BG is similar to Rui's. :3

Fun fact: Lyora is the only final boss of Ceres that is female. The reason for that is her species (human), as Demons outnumber one another in the gender ratio with males, while Mystics outnumber themselves (half the time) with females. Humans and Monsters tend to be about even in the gender ratio.
This would explain all the male demons I've got, huh? xD

Initially, I was gonna give the Demons a gender ratio of 1:3 OUTSIDE of the characters we focus on. But I decided to give them a 3:1 ratio instead when I created Toluene, as I figured the ratio was more fitting to Mystics.

It makes sense when one considers ways a human can become either a Demon or a Mystic in Ceres. The former way is by either Affinity or by doing something that boots them out of their version of Paradise, thus landing them in the Demonic reincarnation cycle.
Oddly enough, Demons have a version of Paradise as well. Most of the time, however, humans-turned-demons get a Limbo (Dream World) or Blank/Ended afterlife, if they're booted from the reincarnation cycle.
To become a Mystic, they had to have had a great hold on life, either by a negative or a positive emotion (the latter being rare). Mystics can junction the souls of deceased onto themselves as a result, hence their "necromancy". In all seriousness, when a deceased person (ghost? Zombies can't exist in Ceres) that's junctioned to a Mystic dies, the Mystic loses some of their powers.

So I guess that's one way Mystics (near-immortal aside from longevity) can kill themselves. Damn. xD

DAT LORE.

Too many elements to respond to so I'll just blow a gasket and talk about the picture.

The shading gradient is getting much cleaner and I can see you're going for a holistic approach to the body. Full body pictures are always cool, I know I appreciate them more.
